I refuse to try and keep up with the Joneses. I’ve met the Joneses and they’re pretentious assholes. Are you keeping up with them?
Look around you, do you and all of your buddies:
dress alike?
live in the same kind of house’s?
look alike?
have matching educations?
hang out at the same places?
If so, you maybe be a pretentious asshole who’s keeping up with a bullshit standard.
I’m just sayin’. We can make our own decision now, high school is over.
That’s all “keeping up with the Joneses” is. The same peer pressure taken to a new and horrible level. If you haven’t grow out of the high school peer pressure- I’m insecure and need to fit in- keeping up appearances attitude, please…
GROW THE HELL UP AND BREAK THE MOLD!
Be a rebel and try something new, like:
making a friend who has had different life experiences than you.
developing your own sense of style.
enjoying a different side of town.
trying new things- without the same old tired face surrounding you!
So, all of you living exclusively in church world (I can say that cause I’m a big old Jesus freak) go make friends with the sinners. They might hear about salvation. You might find out they don’t sin any more or less than you do—who knows they might teach you something about acceptance.
Hey! You! Over there! Still looking like you did in ’87 and living in the same place you did then—go hang out with the vogue models uptown. They might bring back guy-liner and learn something about Heavy Metal. You might get a little wardrobe update!
Jocks- go make friends with the book worms! And this time don’t ask for help and not give any back- we all know you can do home improvements!
If you break the mold you might just learn something about yourself and expand your horizons. You might make a new friend and have a fresh perspective on things, who knows you might even…gasp…grow.

Glad you liked it- unfortunatly you will find a lot of people who never grow out of this shit. It drives me crazy.
Remember—Everyone no matter where they are from, what they have done, what age they are brings something to the party.
I have lived on “Beans & Weenies” & I have dined on the “best Filet”. My most Fun, favorite, cherished & memorable moments were on the “Beans & Weenies”! I have learned by experience “Money does not make the world go around”. Lastly the Joneses really don’t exist when they go in their “Tiny Boxes”. They most of the time hide all their disfunction while I hang mine out on the Clothes line to dry! I will always be a Park Girl & proud of it:)
